The Vanderbilts at Home and Abroad

Included with estate admission

Enjoy an intimate look at the family that created Biltmore with our exhibition, The Vanderbilts at Home and Abroad. This exhibition sheds light on the time the Vanderbilts spent as a family at Biltmore and beyond. Located in Antler Hill Village.

Experience a turn-of-the-century celebration through vivid audio storytelling and displays of clothing recreated from Vanderbilt photos and portraits. A custom Exhibition Audio Guided Tour* immerses you in an era of leisurely days and glamorous nights—realistic 360° sound techniques and stories told by characters based on people who lived and worked at Biltmore in the early 1900s allow you to imagine you are there as guests and staff prepare for A Vanderbilt House Party.

*Audio Guided Tour is FREE with ONLINE ticket purchase, a Biltmore Annual Pass, or an overnight stay package that includes Biltmore House admission. One Audio Guide per guest, per Passholder, and per youth accompanying Passholder.

For a limited time, our Conservatory hosts a beautifully executed botanical model train display! This display features a variety of Biltmore area structures, each handcrafted in meticulous detail from such all-natural elements as leaves, bark, and twigs. With 800 feet of rails and trains traversing six separate lines at different eye levels, this is a one-of-a-kind, fun-for-all-ages garden experience.
