About Biltmore Center for Professional Development
George Vanderbilt’s lifelong pursuit of learning inspired the creation of the Biltmore Center for Professional Development, and his quest for knowledge and excellence is still woven through all we do.
Mr. Vanderbilt chose the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains as the setting for his grand home, recognizing the need for an oasis away from the busy world. We still believe passionately in this “oasis mentality,” as it not only encourages rest and recharging, but often a new perspective.
Our teaching methods are anything but ordinary. When you take part in a Center program, your learning is experiential. Learn from our subject matter experts as they conduct their business. Classroom sessions reference these field experiences and integrate them in your action plan for future success.
Attendance in a Biltmore Professional Development program means immersion into luxurious world-class service. Biltmore is so much more than the house. We want you to fully experience all Biltmore has to offer, and see just how America’s largest home® has grown to be a leader in the hospitality industry. This experience directly informs your learning process with us.
Behavioral changes and business results are nonnegotiable in our courses. Other programs may only provide you with new information and leave it at that. Center courses, on the other hand, are designed to be transformational. They give you the tools to actually change your and your employees’ behavior.
The Biltmore® Center for Professional Development has been approved as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), 1760 Old Meadow Road, Suite 500, McLean, VA 22102.
In obtaining this approval, the Biltmore Center for Professional Development has demonstrated that it complies with the ANSI/IACET 1-2007 Standard that is widely recognized as the standard of good practice internationally.
