Our Story

Extending the enchantment of Biltmore beyond the estate’s 8,000 acres is not new for our company—guests have always been inspired by their visits, and we have always sought special ways to share the Vanderbilt family’s legacy with them.

In response to our guests’ interest in the Vanderbilt lifestyle and in the Biltmore collection of furnishings, Dini Cecil Pickering, great-granddaughter of George Vanderbilt, established the Biltmore licensing program in 1990.

“I am grateful for my great-grandfather’s forward-thinking ideas that created Biltmore. His vision of a country estate that would serve as both a welcome retreat for family and friends and a showcase to house his collections of books, art, and other treasures lives on at Biltmore today. The amazing architectural and landscaping detail that characterizes the estate continues to inspire designers and artisans as well as our guests."
